About Me. Who am I?
Want to know more about me? I’m the creator of The Stella Experience, a blog dedicated to helping people have the best experiences while car camping and traveling. As an outdoor enthusiast, I’ve spent countless nights under the stars and learned what makes a great car camping trip.
On this blog, you’ll find tips, tricks, and product recommendations to help you make the most of your time in the great outdoors. So whether you’re a seasoned car camper or just starting, I hope you’ll find something here that helps you have an unforgettable adventure.
Another one of my favorite things about car camping is discovering new destinations. Some of my favorite places to car camp include Anastasia State Park, Guadalupe Mountains National Park, and Bluewater Lake, New Mexico State Park.
Each location offers something unique, whether it’s stunning scenery, fantastic hiking trails, or incredible wildlife. I’ll share more about these destinations (and others) on the blog, so check back for more inspiration.
Another thing I love about car camping is cooking delicious meals over a campfire or camp stove. I also cook with small appliances powered by my portable power bank when there is no electricity.
And I love stealth camping and dispersed camping. So, we will research those, and you can learn more about them in the blog.
Love for Fishing
Also, I am an avid angler. I love fishing! I started fishing for tadpoles, crawfish, and tarantulas on our property as a child! The tadpoles I caught by hand in ditches and street puddles after the rain.
I caught crawfish and tarantulas using a twitch with a string tied to it. Then I baited it with wet bread. Then, I kept them as pets. LOL.
When I caught the Barracuda pictured below, I donated it to the locals. The day before, I caught a giant Tarpon. Then, I was exhausted and went to bed early. Since I owned a deep v-hull 16′ Seafox with a 50 HP Mercury, I could drive the boat and catch some bait fish on a Sabiki rig. This was on an all-inclusive fishing trip in Costa Rica, and it was terrific.
And the enormous bag of 17 fish I caught was in a mountain stream near our campsite in British Columbia when I was a teen. I knew then I was hooked on camping and fishing. I will add more about fishing soon!
Horseback Riding
My friend Patty had horses at her ranch, so I learned to ride western saddle and bareback. We will cover horseback riding, the best places to go on horseback rides, and what you will need for that.
Filmmaking and Photography
2013, bought an RV and a drone. I learned to fly, record, shoot, and edit films and photos. As a solo female and new to this lifestyle, I had difficulty figuring out how to pay for my outdoor adventurous lifestyle. So, I ended up selling the RV and the drone and returning to what everyone else does. They live in an apartment or a home.
However, I miss traveling on the road and must return to it ASAP. I also bought another drone. Then, another drone. And now an inflatable kayak. I will be learning and researching kayak fishing to share with you. And once I start traveling full-time again, I will update this page and share those experiences with you.
